Treatment
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)
Firm, rhythmic acoustic pulses applied by hand to areas of long-standing muscle and tendon soreness. 60-minute sessions, minimal downtime.
Duration
60 min
Downtime
Minimal
What to expect
A conductive gel is applied to the area, then a
handheld applicator delivers steady, rhythmic pulses. Most patients
describe a deep tapping sensation — firm but tolerable — with
tightness easing in the days that follow. Sessions run about 60
minutes, and most people return to their day right away.
How it works
The handpiece uses compressed air to drive rapid
mechanical pulses at the applicator tip. Your practitioner adjusts the
pressure and frequency to the area being treated and your comfort.
Common areas
Patients most often ask about ESWT for long-standing soreness in the heel and foot, elbow,
shoulder, knee, and back. During your visit we'll assess whether it
fits your treatment plan.
